Planning & Development Act 2005

The Shire has prepared the above proposed amendment to Local Planning Scheme No. 7 (LPS7). The purpose is to amend the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup LPS7 to implement the State Government’s planning reforms for short-term rental accommodation and tourism accommodation.

The amendment introduces the new deemed land use classes for Hosted Short-Term Rental Accommodation and Unhosted Short-Term Rental Accommodation, introduces the model Tourist and Visitor Accommodation land use class, removes superseded accommodation-related land use definitions, updates associated scheme provisions, amends Schedule A dwelling approval requirements, and aligns Home Occupation permissibility with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.

The amendment is considered a Standard Amendment under Regulation 35(2) of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 as it is broadly consistent with the Model Provisions and removes provisions that have been superseded by the Deemed Provisions.

Submissions are to be made in writing, and must be lodged on or before 21 December 2026.
