Cat Registration Information

This information applies to all cat registrations, whether you have a new kitten or are transferring the cat from a different local government or owner.

Before registering your cat, please take some time to review the following to ensure that you have everything you need – without the following, we will not be able to process your registration:

  • All cats over the age of six (6) months must be registered and sterilised*.  Proof of Sterilisation is mandatory – without it, we cannot process your registration correctly.
  • Microchip documentation is mandatory – without it, we cannot process your registration.
  • Registrations are renewed from 1 November annually, with registration period available for one (1) year, three (3) years, or the lifetime of the cat. Please note that if your cat is Unsterilised, it can only be registered for one (1) year as shown in the Registration Fees below.
  • If you would like to register your cat with concession, a valid Pensioner Concession Card must be shown when making your submission.
  • All areas of the Cat Registration Form must be completed, which includes providing an Emergency Contact.
  • If there are any changes to particular details contained in your cat registration (including sale of the animal, change of ownership, or death) you must inform the Shire Administration Office within 7 days so that your file can be updated.
