National AusAlert test - Monday 27 July 2026

Published on Thursday, 23 July 2026 at 2:00:00 PM

AusAlert will be ready to use in October this year, but before it launches, the system needs to be tested across Australia. That test is happening on Monday 27 July 2026, where a single Critical AusAlert test will be sent to every compatible mobile device at the same time, nation-wide.

For WA, the test will occur at 12:00pm (AWST – UTC+8:00)

IMPORTANT:

  • The alert will appear like a system notification on screens and make a loud siren sound for 10 seconds.
  • It will override 'silent' and 'do not disturb' device settings.

For some members of the community, alerts may feel distressing or confusing. Further information and helpful resources can be found via the links below.
