Following a resolution of Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting held in March 2026, the operating hours of the Donnybrook Waste Management Facility (DWMF) will change to the following schedule, effective Monday 30 March 2026.
- Monday: 11:00am - 3:00pm (previously 1:00pm - 5:00pm, changed to new hours)
- Tuesday: 11:00am - 3:00pm (previously 12:00pm - 4:00pm, changed to new hours)
- Wednesday: Closed (no changes)
- Thursday: Closed (no changes)
- Friday: 8:00am - 12:00pm (no changes)
- Saturday: 8:00am - 2:00pm (previously 7:00am - 2:00pm, now opens later)
- Sunday: 10:00am - 4:00pm (previously 10:00am - 5:00pm, now closes earlier)
The change has been made in response to a recent safety incident and a subsequent risk assessment, with the aim of ensuring a site attendant is present during kerbside waste deliveries and improving overall safety at the facility.
The revised weekday hours allow for supervision during kerbside waste drop‑offs, reducing the risk of fire and supporting compliance with environmental licence requirements. Minor adjustments to weekend hours have been made to offset staffing costs.
Updated opening hours will be displayed on site and have been published to the Shire website. To ensure accuracy, future tip passes will feature a QR code for residents to access all current information and opening hours, as the operating hours listed on previous and current tip passes are no longer correct.
Council appreciates the community’s understanding as these changes are implemented to protect public safety, the environment and the ongoing operation of the Donnybrook Waste Management Facility.
