HELP PLAN OUR FUTURE – HAVE YOUR SAY
The Shire of Donnybrook Balingup is undertaking a major review of its Council Plan 2022-2032. The Council Plan is the Shire’s key strategic document that outlines the community’s long‑term aspirations, priorities and desired outcomes. It also identifies the actions the Shire will take to work towards these goals and respond to local needs.
In line with standard industry practice, the Council Plan is reviewed annually, with a major review every four years. As we are now approaching one of these major review points, the Shire is seeking community input to ensure the Plan remains current, relevant and aligned with the views captured through the recent MARKYT® Community Scorecard and other engagement activities.
You are invited to attend one of two Community Workshops to have your say and help shape the next chapter for our Shire.
These workshops are open to all community members, community groups and local businesses. They will be facilitated by an independent facilitator from CATALYSE® on behalf of the Shire.
WHEN: Thursday 19 February 2026
WORKSHOP 1: Balingup Town Hall, 9:30am – 11:30am
WORKSHOP 2: VCMP Pavilion 2 (Tennis Club Building), 5:30pm – 8:30pm

WHAT TO EXPECT
Here is a summary of what we will be doing at the workshop (both sessions cover the same content)
1. Presentation of 2025 MARKYT® Community Scorecard findings
Recently, community members completed the 2025 MARKYT® Community Scorecard, through which they shared their feedback, concerns, and ideas for the future. A wide range of topics were covered, including community services, safety, facilities, culture, events, transport infrastructure, sport and recreation, arts, heritage, and more. An overview of the findings from the Community Scorecard will be shared first.
2. Community Participation & Engagement – have your say
Following the presentation, participants will be invited to reflect on what they value most in small group discussions and describe their preferred vision for the Shire. You will also contribute towards prioritising the various projects and new works that have been suggested by Council and the community to address local needs.
Know someone else who would like to attend? Please share this opportunity with your friends, family, and neighbours.
