In accordance with the Local Government Act 1995, local governments have legislative power to make local laws where prescribed, or necessary, for the good governance of the local district.

  Please note, clause 3.10(b) (removal of refrigerants from disused refrigerators or similar) will be deleted prior to 28 March 2018, as the Commonwealth now regulates this through a licensing system.

Repealed

The following local laws, or sections of local laws, have been repealed within the last 7 years:

• Health Local Law (1999), Section 4.2 (disposal of refuse) is now covered by the Waste Local Law (see above).
• Removal of Refuse, Rubbish and Disused Materials Local Law (2001)
  This is now covered by the Animals, Environment and Nuisance Local Law (2017).
• Miscellaneous Provisions Local Law
  This is now covered by the Animals, Environment and Nuisance Local Law (2017).
• Standing Orders
  This has been replaced by the Meeting Procedures Local Law (2017).
