UPDATE - Thursday 23 April:

The eastern area of the Preston River will remain closed over the ANZAC Day long weekend.

Our outdoor crew is working hard to clear the area and reopen it as safely and quickly as possible. Based on current progress, we expect the area to be reopened around mid‑next week.

Please continue to avoid the area and follow all signage - we appreciate your patience. Be sure to follow the Shire for the latest updates.

The following information was published on Tuesday 21 April:

The eastern foreshore of the Preston River is currently closed due to fallen trees and debris, following last night's stormy weather.

Shire crews will be on site assessing and cleaning up the area as quickly as possible, with works progressing safely as conditions allow. Crew safety is essential while recovery works are underway.

Our priority is community safety. Please avoid the closed area, take care when travelling nearby, and follow any signage or directions in place. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while crews work to make the area safe again.
