FREE TRAINING OPPORTUNITY
Want to build your lifesaving skills and support your community? Eligible residents aged 16+ are invited to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) to receive FREE First Aid & Pool Lifeguard training over 3 days this April!
The Shire of Donnybrook Balingup invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from eligible community members to participate in a First Aid and Pool Lifeguard training course held at the Donnybrook Recreation Centre (DRC) from Wednesday 8 to Friday 10 April 2026. This opportunity is supported through the Active Regional Communities Grants 25-26 provided by the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism & Sport (CITS), which will cover course costs for up to seven (7) participants.
Submissions close at 5:00pm on Friday 20 March 2026. Applications will be reviewed on the following Monday (23 March), and successful applicants will be contacted following this review.
Eligibility
To be eligible to participate, applicants must:
- Be at least 16 years of age,
- Be an Australian resident,
- Reside within the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup,
- Meet the pre-requisites of the courses, and
- Be available to attend all 3 days of training.

Employment Context
Completion of the course does not guarantee employment. The DRC is seeking individuals available for early morning and/or afternoon shifts who may be suitable for future casual lifeguard work.
CITS Grant Compliance
This project is supported by CITS community grant funding to enhance community safety, build local workforce capacity, and provide accredited training opportunities to Shire residents aged 16 years and over.
