Welcome to Dark Down South Open Air – South West Metal Fest, hosted by Jamart Sound Lounge! This event celebrates our metal community, fostering unity, respect, and love for the genre. We want everyone, including kids, to have an amazing, safe experience. Remember to look out for each other, respect the venue, and practice “pit etiquette.”
Join us for an unforgettable experience featuring an incredible lineup of WA's heaviest metal bands, headlined by one of Australia’s most renowned metal acts. Enjoy free camping and a family-friendly atmosphere, making it an event for everyone to enjoy.

GET YOUR TICKETS
Featuring a stellar line up of meaty WA metal bands headlined by two of Australia’s very beastly metal acts, free camping and an all-ages family-friendly atmosphere. This is one that everyone will enjoy. BYO, (No Glass and please).
Under 12’s free, everyone else needs a full ticket. Under 17’s should be accompanied by a ticket holding adult.
- HELD AT: Jim McDonald Oval, Kirup
- GATES OPEN: 10am Friday 22nd November 2024 (Bands from 2pm to 11pm Friday and Saturday)
- Free camping from 10am Friday to 3pm Sunday
- Campers will be safely secured after 12pm both nights with the gates being closed. Only in the event of an evacuation emergency will gates be opened during the night.
- Traffic management and signage will be placed along South Western Highway for safety.
- GATES CLOSE: 3pm Sunday 24th November 2024 (pack up will be done by Monday 25th November)
- Food vans, Coffee van, Donut van are all available over the weekend.

- Camping at your own choice/liability - We will make sure you have 24hr water available
- Total Fire Ban during the month of this event
- Zero tolerance for violent / rude behaviour both verbally and physically, they will be taken out by security with no refund and banned from all JsL events for life.
