The Shire of Donnybrook Balingup would like to inform residents that Cr Alexis Davy has tendered her resignation effective 26th November 2025. Former Cr Davy has requested the following statement be published:
“Over the last two years I’ve learnt that working in local government is a choice to put yourself in a challenging environment day after day - financial constraints, aggrieved community members and constantly evolving complexity. I have nothing but respect for every individual at the Shire of Donnybrook-Balingup that serves our community. As a Councillor, you are required to represent your community on issues that affect them. You debate, sometimes you disagree, you vote, and then you are required to stand behind every decision of Council. This week a decision was made by Council I feel strongly about, and in the interests of a united Council, I’ve decided to step down from my role. I wish my fellow Councillors and Shire staff all the best as they continue to serve our community. We are all very lucky to call the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup home, and being a Councillor was an honour, thank you” – Alexis Davy
