About the role:
The Corporate Information Officer is responsible for ensuring legislative compliance and developing policies related to information management and records keeping, including the implementation of the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing (PRIS) Act 2024. Additionally, the role involves maintaining the Electronic Document Records Management System (EDRMS), providing staff training and support, and collaborating with stakeholders to improve information management processes.
Conditions of employment will be in accordance with Level 5 of the Local Government Industry Award 2010. A competitive salary will be negotiated depending on qualifications and experience. About You - have you got the following?
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislative requirements related to information management and records keeping.
- Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation
- Ability to act as the Freedom of Information Officer and ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
- Proven experience in maintaining and managing Electronic Document Records Management Systems (EDRMS).
- Strong technical skills in system requirements gathering, solution evaluation, data migration, and ensuring compliance with records keeping legislation.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to information systems.
- Ability to provide comprehensive training and support to staff on information management practices and the use of EDRMS.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users and create effective training materials
Desirable
- Local Government experience.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders to ensure effective information management.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with key stakeholders and improve information capture and management processes.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development by attending conferences, seminars, workshops, and other training activities.
- Willingness to stay updated on trends and issues related to information management and records keeping.
