Citizen Connector Training
Past Event
Connecting people and community
Citizen Connectors can be anyone - hairdressers, taxi drivers, supermarket staff, aged care workers, cafe workers, members of sporting groups or choirs, work colleagues, community workers, business owners, librarians, neighbours, friends, young people, seniors... YOU!
Citizen Connectors support the wellbeing of others through conversations and encouraging social and caregiving networks. They like to chat, listen well, and know what is happening in their community. They connect people to groups and clubs that help reduce loneliness, to services that support daily living and to community education opportunities such as advance care planning.
This workshop will help you develop the skills to become a Citizen Connector, offering ‘signpost’ conversations with family, colleagues, and others in the community, including those with life-changing illnesses, carers, and those who are grieving.
