Making Waves at the Donnybrook Recreation Centre

The Donnybrook Recreation Centre has undergone major renovations and upgrades over the last 18 months, and is now seeing a surge of new memberships, as well as a record increase of 76% more enrolments in the swim school program!

Key completed works that are readily available to the public include our renovated and accessable foyer, function room and kitchen, and enhanced lighting in communal areas. The centre now has automatic doors, achieving better access options for all visitors. The gym now operates 24/7, with new flooring and windows throughout the entirety of the centre to provide a better atmosphere and experience for members.

The Donnybrook Recreation Centre has also received digital upgrades, with the investment in a new leisure management software system that provides easier management options for patron accounts and swim school enrolments.

“We’ve seen a huge growth in our membership numbers since the upgrades and software implementation. We now have over 100 members and our swim school enrolments are at an all-time high.” – Simon Peppler, Donnybrook Recreation Centre Manager.

There is also a new and highly successful home school sports program available for homeschooled children to participate in organised sports, which also provides an excellent social and childhood relationship building opportunities. The key stakeholder clubs (such as basketball and netball) now have access to the Donnybrook Recreation Centre facilities outside of standard open hours, and we are pleased to have added karate to the list of programs on offer.

The Donnybrook Recreation Centre will continue providing high-quality facilities and programs for its members and the community, keeping fitness and other various health needs a priority.
