Recently, the Shire received confirmation of funding that will be provided by Main Roads WA, via the Commodity Route Fund (CRF).

The Shire of Donnybrook Balingup is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of $275,000 in funding for the enhancement of the Greenbushes-Grimwade Road, as a part of the Main Roads WA Commodity Route Fund (CRF) program. This funding, with a co-contribution of $137,500 from the Shire, will result in a total works funding allocation of $412,500 for this essential road to be sealed.

The Greenbushes-Grimwade Road serves as a vital road for both the transportation of agricultural goods and services, and commuter traffic within our region. This road provides key access to the Bunbury Port as well as timber mills in Manjimup and Bridgetown, and will improve the safety and reliability of the road. It experiences heavy usage, which therefore requires necessary maintenance on a regular basis due to safety concerns. With this success, we will be able to further commit to implementing sustainable solutions that will enhance the resilience and longevity of key infrastructure such as this.

Comments from Shire President Vivienne MacCarthy:

“We are dedicated to prioritising community safety and prosperity wherever possible, as well as the preservation of our agricultural sector. This funding achievement will allow us to uphold these essential objectives, and ensures our continued efforts to maintain the well-being of our residents, workers, and the prosperity of our region.”
