LATEST COVID-19 UPDATES

WA GOVERNMENT'S LATEST UPDATE

Last updated 9 February, 2022 2:00pm

The Shire of Donnybrook Balingup is working with the Department of Health and WALGA to provide accurate updates on the current Covid-19 health issue based on the latest information from the Federal and State health departments.
It is important during this time that you continue to keep updated through the WA Department of Health and follow the public gathering and social distancing rules implemented for everyone’s safety.

MASK MANDATE FOR SOUTH WEST REGION
Masks are mandatory for all indoor public settings for the South West from 6:00pm, Monday 17 January, 2022.

The mask-wearing requirement will also apply to anyone who has been in the South West since Wednesday 12 January, when a previously reported positive COVID-19 case was infectious in the community, and has since travelled to another region.

A list of exposure sites can be found here.

PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION

From Monday 31 January, proof of vaccination requirements will expand to apply to venues and events state-wide. Specific to the South West includes;

  • Visitors to public and private hospitals, and residential aged care facilities;
  • All hospitality and food licensed venues:
    • including restaurants, dine-in fast food, cafes, bars, pubs, clubs, taverns;
    • excluding food and non-alcoholic beverage takeaway, roadhouse and service stations.
  • Bottle shops;
  • Indoor entertainment venues, including play centres, gaming and gambling, theatres, concert halls, museums, cinemas and live music venues.
  • Nightclubs;
  • Gyms, fitness studios and centres;
  • Amusement Parks;
  • Music festivals and large events with more than 500 people, unless exempt.

Community sport and school-based events are excluded from the proof of vaccination requirement. See below for specifics relating to the Shire's multi-use recreation facility:

Donnybrook Recreation Centre

As of February 1, 2022, the Donnybrook Recreation Centre requires proof of vaccination (or proof of exemption) for all patrons/contractors/visitors of the GYM and GROUP FITNESS CLASSES (spin, pump, pilates, yoga, aerobics etc), 16 years and over.

Proof of vaccination is not required for use of the pool and indoor community sports; however, spectators must still adhere to social distancing and mask mandates.

How do I show proof of vaccination?

✅ ServiceWA app or Express plus Medicare mobile app (no ID required).

✅ Digital and printed copy of your COVID-19 certificate (ID required).

✅ Printed Immunisation history statement (ID required).

✅ Medical exemption (ID required).

For the safety of yourself and others, we ask that you DO NOT enter our facility if you feel unwell, have COVID-19 symptoms, or are awaiting test results. If you require testing, please find your nearest COVID Clinic at at www.healthywa.wa.gov.au

Venues, staff and patrons will all have a shared responsibility when it comes to showing proof of vaccination, with venues required to take reasonable steps to ensure all patrons are double dose vaccinated or have a medical exemption.
