New President for Shire of Donnybrook Balingup

Cr Leanne Wringe was elected to the senior leadership position of Shire President at the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup Councillor swearing-in meeting on Tuesday 19 October.

Having served on the Council for four years from 2017-2021, Cr Wringe was re-elected for a further four-year term at this year’s local government election.

Cr Wringe advised that “having recently completed my Diploma of Local Government qualification, and with four years previous experience on Council (with two years as Deputy President), I feel I am well placed to lead the newly elected Council.”

Set to commence official duties at the first meeting of the new Council on 27 October, Shire President Cr Wringe said “the preceding Council, led by outgoing Shire President Cr Brian Piesse, has laid solid foundations of good governance, project delivery and robust financial management, and I look forward to being a part of the continued growth and success of this Shire”.

Cr Wringe is the second female President for the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup, with Cr Alison Comparti in the role between 1995-1997.
