Increase support for local business by providing an information conduit and assist with communication across the business sector.

Local businesses cash flow
|
Invoices for local businesses paid weekly, instead of fortnightly.

Community leases
|
Waive facility lease payments for community and sporting groups in Shire facilities.

Backpackers
|
Work with local accommodation providers to assist backpacker workforce availability, stability and pandemic education/information.

Camping sites management
|
Work with DBCA in relation to formal and informal camping sites to manage litter, bushfire risk and other impacts of potential over-use.

Shire approvals
|
Expedite planning, building and other approvals.
|
Self-supporting loans
|
Defer payment of self-supporting loans (to community groups) during 2020.
|
Commercial leases
|
Review the need for modification to commercial lease terms on a case-by-case basis, in line with Federal and State directives.

PHASE TWO (FOR IMPLEMENTATION FROM JULY 2020)

Rating level freeze
|
0% rates increase for 2020/21 (noting that some property revaluations are still expected to be undertaken by the State Government).
|
Shire capital spend
|
Expedite the planned capital works program, key projects and bring forward asset management works where possible.
|
Bushfire Brigades support
|
Work with DFES and others to support Bushfire Brigades.
|
Tourism support
|
Plans to assist tourism sector when movement and isolation restrictions are lifted (e.g. Collie-Preston tourism promotion of wrap-around visitor packages).
|
Community grants
|
Restructure delivery of Shire community grants and increase funds by 2020/21 to encompass community and business support grants.
|
Events
|
Work with event organisers to seek to assist to 're-launch' cancelled events (when restrictions are lifted).

Not for Profit / Community Associations
|
Work with associations to identify assistance Shire may be able to provide.
|
Shire facilities management
|
Bring forward maintenance and renewal works while facilities are closed or in a low use period.
