Wednesday 18 December 2019 Council Outcomes 

  • Council revoked a previous decision of Council at the 5 September 2019 OCM to relocate milling equipment from the Irishtown Arboretum to the Kirup Mill Park and resolved to retain the equipment at Irishtown and develop the area into a lowkey tourist rest stop (without bathroom/toilet or any extended overnight stay facilties). Include in the forthcoming budgets improvements and upgrades to the equipment and site including interpretive signage. 
  • Council resolved to approve the “Report of Review” recommending that Local Planning Scheme 7 be amended and the Local Planning Strategy be reviewed and provide the approved “Report of Review” to the Western Australian Planning Commission for further consideration.

  • The Shire of Donnybrook Balingup will continue its with the Bunbury Geographe Tourism partnership and endorsed the extension of the MOU to 30 June 2019.
  • Council approved in principle loan funding towards the Donnybrook and Districts Sports, Recreation and Events Precinct Project on the basis of: 

- One third funding from the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup with the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup capital contribution via loan being capped at a maximum of $3,000,000.

- Two thirds funding from the State Government;
