Main Roads WA (MRWA) are currently undertaking a roadworks project on South Western Highway, Brookhampton, which necessitates the removal and relocation of a significant amount of soil material.

The Shire has negotiated with Main Roads WA (MRWA) to dispose of this soil material at the Donnybrook Waste Management Facility (DWMF) located at Goodwood Road, Donnybrook.

In the future, once the DWMF site has reached capacity, the Shire will be required to rehabilitate the landfill site which will require soil capping material. The opportunity to access the excess soil material from MRWA’s project will significantly reduce the cost of undertaking this capping work.

The cartage of the soil material to the DWMF will be undertaken by road-trains travelling north from Brookhampton on South Western Highway, turning onto Marmion Street, then Emerald Street and finally Goodwood Road.  It is anticipated that the vehicle movements will occur for several months (dependent on weather conditions), operating between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. The Shire expects approximately 80 truck movements per day (40 movements out, plus 40 movements back). It is acknowledged this may have an impact on residents living along the nominated route, however, unfortunately there are no other viable routes to the DWMF.

The Shire appreciates your understanding whilst this temporary activity is being undertaken.
