Westport have been working with the Shire and local stakeholders in the development of the Westport: Port & Environs Strategy.
The summary of Westports first major round of community consultation is now available to view.
The Westport: What You Have Told Us consultation summary marks a significant step in the development of a long-term strategy to meet Western Australia’s freight and logistics needs.
In this initial phase of engagement, the Westport Taskforce asked for feedback on whether we had identified all the key factors necessary for answering key policy questions on the location, size, operating model and timing for future port facilities and the road, rail and intermodal terminals to support them.
Westport received more than 200 formal submissions from individuals, businesses, community groups, industry organisations and government organisations during the consultation period. They have thanked all those who contributed as this feedback has shaped and refined the project’s methodology.
Westport have committed to investigating the issues that are important to stakeholders and the community throughout the development of the strategy.
The Westport: What You Have Told Us consultation summary is available to view at http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/westport.
Community consultation and feedback will remain key components of the strategy development throughout the life of this project. Westport Steering Committee chairperson, Nicole Lockwood encourages further feedback on this consultation summary to the Westport Taskforce.
