UPDATE – Donnybrook Recreation Centre Redevelopment

Stage 1 – Indoor Stadium back in action

Work on the Indoor Stadium is complete and the two court stadium is back in full swing!

This first stage of the redevelopment involved re-roofing the sports stadium, installing mechanical ventilation, two large ceiling fans and new LED lighting into the sports stadium. The recent storms have given the new roof a thorough workout and we’re monitoring it closely for faults.

A number of regular user groups and programs are back up and running including Donnybrook District High School sports programs, Donnybrook Netball Association training sessions, Junior Soccer, Kindy Gym and the Centre’s Fitness programs. All reports indicate that the regulars love the new improved lighting. It’s been too cold to give the new fans and ventilation system a real test, but they know the hot weather is only months away!

Stage 2 – Indoor Pool

Stage 2 has involved closure of the indoor pool. Shire officers attended a site meeting with the architects and the builders on Monday 31st July, 2017. Despite the recent stormy weather, the work is on schedule and we anticipate the indoor pool will reopen on schedule on 23rd September, 2017.

If you have any queries about the use of the Centre or about programs and timetables please contact Donnybrook Recreation Centre – 9731 1822.
