An awesome 8 week, two hour per week, group fitness program especially designed for males & females 55+ who want to ease gently into a fitness program that will set them on a path to being old’n awesome.

Commences Tuesday 13th February, 2018

The program is designed to teach participants the fundamentals of an age and fitness level appropriate exercise program. You’ll be introduced to the diverse range of fitness activities, with a focus on the social and mental health benefits of regular exercise.

Each 2 hour session consists of two parts – a 1 hour fitness session, then a 1 hour information workshop and morning tea. During the workshop a qualified fitness instructor will introduce you to a range of related wellness topics including nutrition, mental health, medications and the benefits of community volunteering.

WEEK 1 Part 1 – We start gently with chair exercises and will introduce pelvic floor work and the benefits of stretching.

Part 2 – Morning Tea and Workshop

WEEK 2 Part 1 – Be introduced to standing strength exercises including stretching and spinal mobility.

Part 2 – Morning Tea and Workshop

WEEK 3 Part 1 – We’ll introduce you to a range of low impact exercises and explore the benefits of maintaining core strength.

Part 2 – Morning Tea and Workshop

WEEK 4 Part 1 – This week we’ll expand the range of low impact exercise options and introduce you to basic upper body strength exercises.

WEEK 5 Part 1 – This week we’ll have some fun with partner stretching, core strength, low impact and pelvic floor exercises.

Part 2 – Morning Tea and Workshop

WEEK 6 Part 1 – We focus on balance and standing pelvic floor work and begin to combine exercise techniques introduced in earlier weeks.

Part 2 – Morning Tea and Workshop

WEEK 7 This week we introduce exercises which focus on improving our ability to shift our balance and introduce resistance exercises.

WEEK 8 – review A class combining the best of low impact, balance, pelvic floor, core stability, standing strength, upper body weights, band resistance, stretching and circulation.
