A big crowd gathered for the last of this year’s outdoor movies

Over 550 locals and visitors to the region kicked off the March long weekend by spending it outdoors, under a canopy of stars, watching a new family classic on the big screen?

Groups of families & friends joined us  to watch ‘A Dogs Purpose’, the last of the 2018 Shire of Donnybrook Balingup free outdoor films!

The picnic fare varied between gourmet takings and the humble toasted sandwich. The enticing smell of pizza and fish & chips wafted through the Amphitheatre. The 1st Donnybrook Scout group families cooked up a storm with a sausage sizzles, soft drink, popcorn, pancakes and chocolate bars. Coffee van also available.

Locals always come prepared with picnic blankets, recliner chairs, large cushions and the odd bean bag.  Warm jackets and woolly socks were at the ready, as the evening temperature dropped.

The night sky put on a show with a stunning full moon rising just above the screen.

A Dog’s Purpose
A devoted dog (Josh Gad) discovers the meaning of its own existence through the lives of the humans it teaches to laugh and love. Reincarnated as multiple canines over the course of five decades, the lovable pooch develops an unbreakable bond with a kindred spirit named Ethan (Bryce Gheisar). As the boy grows older and comes to a crossroad, the dog once again comes back into his life
to remind him of his true self.
