Congratulations Henry Delbridge – Frank Arbuthnott Memorial Scholarship

Frank Arbuthnott Schlarship Presentation – L-R Shire President Brian Piesse congratulates recipient Henry Delbridge with CEO, Ben Rose

Every year, the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup invites Year 10 students to apply for a Frank Arbuthnott Memorial Scholarship.

Frank Arbuthnott was a music teacher in Donnybrook who, back in the 1950s, inspired many people, young and old, to get into music. He died, sadly, while still young and the local community set up a scholarship fund in his memory to help talented young people from the district to pursue their interests in music and performing arts.   The first scholarship was awarded in 1958.

At a Shire function on Wednesday 14th February, 2018, Shire President Brian Piesse presented Henry Delbridge with this year’s Scholarship. Henry is the 59th recipient of the Frank Arbuthnott scholarship.

Henry is a very talented young man, who is well known in the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup. He has a passion for music and the performing arts, and plays several instruments including the piano and trumpet. Henry has participated in many school and community orchestras, ensembles and bands. Henry’s academic record is also exemplary. This year he commenced Year 11 at Manea Senior College having been awarded a Gold Academic Scholarship.

Congratulations to Henry Delbridge, the 2017 recipient of the Frank Arbuthnott Memorial Scholarship.
