PROGRESS UPDATE – LOCAL PLANNING
STRATEGY & LOCAL PLANNING SCHEME NO. 7
The Shire of Donnybrook-Balingup is
in the process of developing a Local Planning Strategy in accordance with the
Town Planning Regulations 1967 for the purpose of informing the preparation of Local Planning Scheme No. 7.
The aim of the LPS is to provide
guidance and direction in respect to the sustainable development of the Shire
of Donnybrook-Balingup for the next 10 to 15 years and promote rational
decision making for the future zoning, subdivision, development and use of land
within the Scheme area. The LPS shall provide a consolidation of the Shire’s
Local Rural Strategy (2008) and Townsite Expansion Strategy (2009), in addition
to relevant State, regional and local government documentation.
Council has engaged Edge Planning and Property as the
primary consultant for preparation of both the Local Planning Strategy and
Scheme.
The Communication Framework for these projects has been
finalised and is available for inspection at the Shire Offices, corner of Bentley Street and Collins Street,
Donnybrook during normal office hours.
