A. Council is keen to encourage an environmentally friendly shire and is endeavoring to save trees and encourage them to grow into a pleasing shape wherever possible. As a rule, street trees are only pruned when they interfere or conflict with public utility services such as power lines; to promote the health of the tree, including removal of dead branches; to bring down to a safe height (6 metres) manageable by staff; to remove or prevent a hazard to pedestrians, cyclists or motor vehicles; and to remove or avoid damage to adjoining property. Council does not prune trees or bushes on private property.
